Wallpaper Printing Workshop

In this 2-day workshop, you will learn the fundamentals of turning botanical studies into beautifully designed, hand-printed, wallpapers. With the goal of turning your house into a hand-crafted home.

On the first day we will (briefly!) learn about the historical progression of wallpapers and look at some inspiring designs through the ages for inspiration and context.  We will then make some botanical sketches of live specimens and learn how to create a repeating pattern from them.

On day two we will transfer the patterns on to our linoleum boards and begin carving our pattern.  Once finished you will learn a simple printing technical that you can easily replicate at home.

We have have some yummy nibbles an refreshments along the way (please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions) and, in the end, you will take home a sample of your handprinted wallpaper and your hand-carved linoleum block to continue making enough wallpaper to cover a room (and beyond!) once the workshop has concluded.

Because this is a very hands on learning environment, the workshop is capped at 8 people.  We provide all of the materials and tools necessary.  Please just bring yourselves!  All workshops are held in French and English so if you are more comfortable in one of the other, I'll make sure to translate as we go.
