Aquilegia, also known as columbine, is the whimsical flower that seems to defy nature’s rules, with its delicate, spurred petals dancing like little ballerinas in the breeze. These vibrant blooms come in a stunning array of colours and typically bloom in late spring to early summer.
Each petal of this paper impression is meticulously shaped and layered by hand to create a lifelike, vibrant flower that won’t fade or wilt. The Aquilegia series was inspired by live specimens found growing in a beautiful garden in central Copenhagen. I had the pleasure of revisiting it in my imagination while making it - what a pleasure!
